Season 51 Featured Game No. 3...Los Angeles at San Jose...plus San Jose Golden Team

San Jose 85, Los Angeles 82

THREE-BALL SEALS THE DEAL FOR AMIGOS

SAN JOSE -- Three-point buckets by Cremeofsum Yunguy and Jesse Shershot down the stretch (numbers 10 and 11 in the game for the Fighting Amigos) nailed down the win for unbeaten San Jose 85-82. The Amigos are now 3-0 on the season, the only undefeated team in Season 51.

These teams represent the last two MBA champions and played like it.

The defending champion Los Angeles Big One fell to 1-2, but played a surprisingly competitive game since they were doing so without point guard Great Gruncle Terry, who went down with a rest-of-game injury early in the first quarter.

L.A. stayed in the game with 61.7 percent shooting, but were out-gunned from deep 11-3.

PLAYER OF THE GAME

37 GVP ...Hall of Fame point guard JESSE SHERSHOT, going for his fourth consecutive scoring title, lit it up for 33 points in the win; the highest total by anyone this season. The fifth-year four-time All-MBA star was 11 for 17 from the floor, knocking down 7 treys in 13 attempts while going 4 for 6 from the foul line. He's now averaging 24 points per game for unbeaten San Jose this season. The 6-5 shooting guard also pulled down 4 boards.

Other 20-plus GVP performers
35 GVP...Third-year Los Angeles forward Crentis Dentist was brilliant in defeat for The Big One, scoring a team-high 27 points and dominating Muscle Shoals of San Jose. Dentist, a defending All-MBA forward, hit his first 10 shots of the game before missing. He also pulled down 5 boards and had 3 assists.

31 GVP...Eddie "the Milkman" Creamer complemented Shershot's scoring in this win with 23 points while pulling down a team-high 6 boards and handing out 2 assists. The 6-9 veteran had 5 slams and brought Christ Almighty to his knees.

28 GVP...Quick Tink had little trouble dominating San Jose's Twinkles Spatula, as the Los Angeles center scored 17 points, pulled down 5 boards, dished 3 assists, blocked a game-high 2 shots and added a steal. His clutch medium shot at the 9 time unit mark tied the game for The Big One.

23 GVP...Eleven-year stalwart Cat Timol came off the bench for the visiting L.A. team when Terry went down to injury, and delivered the second triple-double game of his solid career. The 5-10 Timol showed true grit by coming down with a game-high 7 rebounds (tied), scored 10 points and passed out a team-high 6 assists.

21 GVP...San Jose's 15-season veteran point guard Cremeofsum Yunguy has had a hard time scoring this campaign, but dishing the ball has been no problem. The 5-11 immigrant from China had a game-high 7 assists, pulled down 5 rebounds and scored 9 points in this important victory.
