Lariats even up series

The Oklahoma City Lariats won their first playoff game in 10 seasons, beating up on the defending champion Charleston Rebels 69-54 in Oklahoma City to even up this best of three series.
Hall of Fame center Jonny Cockaroo went down to injury early in the first quarter of play for the Rebels, who never recovered from the loss. He is lost for the next contest at least, as is power forward rookie Gulemon Mon-Mon of the Lariats, who was hurt near the end of the third quarter.
Fellow rookie forward Jimmy Wharfdale again led the charge for Oklahoma City with game highs in points (24) and rebounds (9).
Game three will decide who goes to the finals.

Game MVP--Jimmy Wharfdale, Oklahoma City, 24 points on 11 of 11 shooting, 9 rebounds.
Most Assists--Marcus Pettis, Oklahoma City, 6.
