Rebels, Amigos win playoff openers

REBELS ROUGH UP OKLAHOMA CITY
The defending champion Charleston Rebels outscored the Oklahoma City Lariats 24-10 in the third quarter to blow open Game One of this best of three semifinal playoff series on the way to a 88-64 win.
With the game still close, All-League forward Boone Doggle of Charleston was hurt early in the second quarter and removed for the remainder of the contest. It made little difference, however, as veterans Benny Gumm (28 points)and Jonny Cockaroo (20)responded to the Lariats challenge.

The San Jose Fighting Amigos came back from a 55-50 deficit after three quarters to edge the youngest team in the MBA, the Milwaukee Greyhounds, 67-64 to open the best of three semifinal playoff series.
