The championship
won by the Dallas Demons marks just the 18th time in 52 seasons that
a title team placed no players on the All-MBA first team.
Freddy Gooch
of Gillette established a one-game scoring record for Gillette in Season 52
with a 35-point game.
The next
game Wawa Wewa plays in Season 53 will give him the all-time consecutive games
played mark in MBA history. He is currently tied with Hall of Famer Raisin
Sport with 120 straight games.
Dallas will
go into Season 53 with a 9-game regular season winning streak. The record is 16
straight regular season wins, set by Dallas during late Season 46 and early
Season 47.
Great
Gruncle Terry is just the fourth Hall of Fame player to earn that distinction
without ever having earned All-MBA honors.
Milwaukee,
having swept Philadelphia in Season 52, is now the only franchise with a
winning record over every team in the MBA.
The Gillette
Humps are again changing head coaches. Out is Tiger Masterson (who howled at
the prospect) after two seasons. In is newly retired Otto Palindrome. Tiger
Masterson was 8-12 in his two seasons, the two best in franchise history. We expected more from the team last season.
