Dallas wins finals opener 75-67

DALLAS--Hall of Fame point guard Mamadou Zongo's game-high 22 points and seven rebounds led the way as the Dallas Demons took game 1 of the best of five series 75-67 over the Seattle Stampede. Seattle was never really in this one, getting outrebounded 24-14 while their league-leading scorer, Horn E. Goatweed managed just seven points on only four shots.
Meanwhile, 7-foot, all-league center Max Payne of Dallas was blocking six shots and rookie forward J'Q contributed a valuable 10 points off the bench for the winners.
Shot blocking was running rampant in this one, with Dallas blocking 10 shots and Seattle swatting away 9 in a game that had both clubs shooting in the low 50s percentage-wise.
Forward Bisquero Cutoff chipped in with 16 points for the winners. Kuch Kuch Hotahey led Seattle in scoring with 15. The game marked the first finals appearance for the Stampede since Season 14.
Game MVP--Mamadou Zongo, Dallas--22 points, 7 rebounds, 1 block
SPECIAL NOTE: This finals represents the first time in the history of the MBA that two Western Division teams have met for the championship.
