Season 48 retirement observations
—Dallas, winners of the last 2
championships, got decimated by retirements, with four of five starters hanging
it up at the end of this season, including one of the greats of all time, Hall
of Fame forward Chip Battoe, currently the fourth-most honored player of all
time.
—11 active (and 20 total) players will be
hanging it up … 7 of the 11 active are starters
—3 teams totally escaped without any
retirements
—4 teams lost zero starters
— 9 players from the cut pile gave up on
their MBA aspirations…none retired last season
